About

L.R. Hunter grew up reading the classics; everything from Dickens and Austen to Dostoyevsky and Voltaire; and always dreamed about becoming an author. Her writing style is imaginative and psychological, bending the laws of reality while questioning social norms and the human condition.

She currently resides in Las Vegas with her boyfriend and works as a personal trainer for her day job. Her goals are to build a Holistic Healing Ranch where families escape the city for a week and immerse themselves in rejuvenating activities on the farm like gardening, feeding the chickens, and riding horses; and to build a Cat Ranch Sanctuary on the outskirts of Vegas where tourists can hang out with free range kitties, take photos for social media, and purchase goods in the store to help support the cause.

Her upcoming novel “Alien Gods” is about a haunted mansion in the middle of the desert just north of Las Vegas, where a strange woman runs an unusual bed and breakfast, attracting 4 teenage girls who saw videos about it on Tik Tok, 2 ghost hunters who bring their equipment, 2 guys on their way to a business convention in Vegas, and 2 pairs of boomer couples enjoying their retirement. Each room in the mansion is attached to a powerful deity from Ancient Mesopotamian Mythology, whom the guests realize are the original aliens that brought humans to Earth, and have returned to help fight in the final battle between good and evil.

“Legacy: A Mother’s Daughter”, is a coming-of-age sci-fi fantasy novella that harbors a deep secret and portrays the passing of knowledge and wisdom from one generation to the next. The idea came to her when she was in the shower at her mother’s house in rural New England while she was undergoing severe personal trauma in her 20’s. The story is meant to illustrate the bond between mother and child and the legacy of their lineage.

“The Great Awakening” is a paranormal romance novella based on Mount Charleston and characterizes what life would be like if a nuke obliterated all of civilized society. What kinds of people would survive psychological and biochemical warfare waged by the elites onto law-abiding citizens? The story reflects her own journey of political awakening as the main character falls in love with a type of man she was taught to despise.
